On Top of the World…Well, Almost

Terrace in the Sky So I no longer have to pay an extra daily fee to rent a car. That’s like Corolla cool baby.

What else happened on my 25th birthday? Anna and I put on makeup, dolled ourselves up and went to Terrace in the Sky near Columbia thanks to a generous gift certificate from my best man Bill. I’ll just say it. My wife looked pretty hot. She’s a 10. I’m not sure how hot I was. I’m probably pulling down a solid 6 or 7 right now.

So, back to dinner. We rode an express elevator to the top Columbia University’s Butler Hall, the same place where we signed our apartment lease. We stepped off the elevator and hopped some stairs where we were greeted. As we told them the name of the reservation, I looked to the right. I couldn’t believe. A terrace! In the sky! A terrace in the sky! Needless to say the views of the city were breathtaking.

The ViewWe had a romantic dinner, starting off with some crab cakes. Anna order the risotto, I had the Salmon and we shared a bottle of Shiraz.

It was all delicious, as was our conversation (giggles to himself). After we were finished eating, we headed outside to a big open patio and enjoyed the nighttime view of Central Park and Midtown Manhattan. This place really gave Applebee’s a run for its money.

When we got home, we enjoyed some sweet money key lime pie Anna had made from scratch. I bet if we had a really tall building with a greenhouse on top, we could’ve invited people over and charged them $15 a slice. That’s how good it was.

All in all, it was a pretty darn good way to celebrate my first birthday outside of Minnesota.
