Long Overdue
Hello! So I am back after my long hiatus. How many times can I use the grad school excuse before it doesn’t work anymore? Hopefully, I won’t need it in the future as one of my new year’s resolutions is to blog more often. (But really, how many times COULD I use the excuse??)
It looks like Drew summed up our past month and a half quite nicely in his last post. Although, I should add, at the Macy’s parade I saw my first “celebrity” on the street (not in the parade). It was Joey Fatone (I don’t know if I should really be calling him a celebrity, but some people know who I am talking about when I say his name, so I think it counts). Additionally, Drew didn’t mention that I made some “turkey day” food to go with the chicken (which was everything you eat at Thanksgiving, minus the turkey, I mean chicken…), and we all discovered that I can, in fact, cook, and quite well!
Also in the last month I finished my first semester of graduate school. So far I seem to be unscathed, mostly. It wasn’t too terrible, but I am quite glad this is only a two year program.
After our New Year’s celebration I came down with some sort of stomach flu that kept me in bed for a few days. It was not fun. I was able to read a book and do some knitting though (Drew gave me a learn to knit book along with some yarn and needles for Christmas. I think he is trying to domesticate me…). I am finally over it, just in time for me to go back to work at my internship (perfect timing, right?).
Otherwise things haven’t been too eventful, but hopefully some crazy stuff will happen with in the next few days. Drew’s sister Abby is coming to visit this Wednesday through the weekend. And, two of my post college friends will be visiting the next weekend. They have promised to keep me out until bar close (4AM!!) at least one night since I haven’t done that yet. (Does that mean I am getting old??)
