Strangers on a Train in Central Park

Strangers on a Train“Don’t worry. I’m not going to shoot you, Mr. Haines. It might disturb mother. I’m a very clever follow. I’ll think of something better than that. Much better.”

Muhahahahaha.

Two Thursdays ago, Anna and I went to see Alfred Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train, part of the Central Park Film Festival.

This is the second event I’ve attended at the Central Park Summer Stage (The first being Stephen Lynch - the man who gave us “Dead Puppies“). Anna missed out on that one as she was back in SoDak (probably hanging out at Wall Drug).

It’s an amazing venue and both events were completely FREE! There’s nothing like sitting outside in Central Park as the sun sets, jets streak quietly across the sky and rats scurry across your lap (only kidding …or am I?). These are the kind of events you touristy peoples should really try to attend.

The New York Times has the movie trailer in case you want to wet your whistle.

There’s some really awesome (and by awesome I mean terrible) editing during the film’s tennis sequences, and the carousel scene (spoiler alert) at the end is unmatched in it’s ridiculousness. Overall, it was an entertaining movie, though.

In other news, Anna and I are headed out to see the U.S. Open later tonight in at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens. Hopefully we won’t get wrapped up in a murderous plot.
